L. Jeya Prasad is a highly qualified individual with a BSc in Mathematics and an MSc in Computer Science. Currently serving as the Director of Spell Bee and Mathematics Tutor, he is also a successful business owner. His academic journey includes notable achievements such as completing Bio Maths at St.Peter’s Hr.Sec.School in Kodaikanal, earning a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Arul Anandar College in Madurai, and obtaining a Master's degree in Computer Science from Bishop Heber College in Trichy.
Jeya Prasad has an impressive track record in both academics and extracurricular activities. He served as the secretary for the Department of Mathematics and worked as a part-time computer trainer at Kodaikanal International School. As an entrepreneur, he established Shefy Toys & Gifts and Shefy Holidays, contributing to the tourism business in Kodaikanal.
As an educationalist, Jeya Prasad has been a dedicated mathematics tutor since 2004, founding his own tuition center in 2007. He is also the Director of Wordsworth Spell Bee for Dindigul District, focusing on English language learning up to an international level. His passion lies in teaching mathematics to slow learners and creating awareness that it is an approachable subject.
Beyond his professional life, Jeya Prasad actively engages in community service. He joined the Rotary Club of Kodaikanal in 2005 and has held various leadership positions, including serving as the President in 2010-11. Notably, he became a Paul Harris Fellow and Multiple Paul Harris Fellow, contributing significantly to eradicate polio and supporting social concerns in Kodaikanal. Currently, he is the Honorable Treasurer for CORSOCK and an executive member for Rotary District 3000 for TEACH (Adult Literacy).
Jeya Prasad's involvement extends to sports, where he was a rowing champion during school and college days, represented his college in shuttle badminton, and passionately played cricket, representing various teams. He has received numerous awards, including Best President of Rotary District 3000 in 2010-11 and the Rotary International President Citation Award.
In his personal life, Jeya Prasad is happily married to Ida Rose Paulin, a Ph.D. scholar, and is blessed with two daughters, Johanna Shefy and Jeffina Stefy. Johanna is currently in the 10th grade at St. Peter’s, while Jeffina is in the 4th grade.
